EJO – The Media's Role in the Financial Crisis

Thanks to the renewed support of our bank, the conference series organized by the European Journalism Observatory (EJO) of the University of Lugano will start again on Thursday, 17th September. The first session is entitled "Limits and Merits of Media in the Era of Global Information".

Mario Deaglio, Professor of International Economics at the University of Turin and editorialist of the daily paper La Stampa, and Guido Rivolta, a journalist specialized in economics and personal adviser to Giulio Tremonti, Italian Minister of Economy and Finance, will be the two speakers in a debate entitled "Financial Crash and Economic Crisis: Are Newspapers Responsible as well?" The conference will be moderated by the journalist Marcello Foa, a co-founder of EJO.

The conference, sponsored by Cornèr Bank, will begin at 18:15 hours [06:15 p.m.] at the Auditorium of the University of Lugano, at its home campus in Lugano.
